The Diablo II system comes in many variations and is now available for players to return to D2R Ladder Items or even to play for the first time based on whether they have played the initial Diablo II or not.
If you've played the predecessor to this new version, you'll be pretty familiar with some important features of this Ladder system. It's available in the Classic, Hardcore Classic, Expansion or Hardcore Expansion variants with each one having its own rules for how many lives players can play with and the content available.
"Each modes will be equipped with its specific leaderboard on which players compete for experience and gain strategic advantage within the limited timeframe, while also having access to exclusive content specifically for Ladder," Blizzard's announcement about the introduction of their Ladder game included in Diablo II: Resurrected said. "When the Ladder season comes to an end, the leaderboard rankings will reset, transitioning characters to non-ladder modes, giving players the chance to gain experience."
Hardcore Expansion Ladder: The hardcore (only 1 time) Version of Ladder play that includes playing five acts, as it also includes "Lord of Destruction" expansion Diablo 2 Resurrected Buy Items. If you're eager to get higher than others on the Ladder leaderboards it is possible to do so until the conclusion of a season to climb as high as possible.
